“I just wanted to say how great it was to meet you last week and have you help me look after Buddy this weekend.

As you know he was badly injured at the beginning of 2015 and after a couple of years nursing him back to health I decided to bring him home with me from Dubai earlier this year. A few weeks ago he was diagnosed with mega colon (potentially another effect from his brain injury) meaning he really can’t be left overnight when I go to visit family etc.

Knowing that not only are you there to feed and play with him but you are also professionally trained to administer his medication and give me a professional view on how his is, is more than I could have ever asked for in a cat sitter!

He is such an amazing cat with so much to give after such a hard couple of years and I know how lucky I am to have been introduced to you to co-parent Buddy when I’m not there!

“I was so pleased with the care given to my 10-year-old guinea pig, Ishy, when he stayed with HSH. He stayed in a cosy shed with a heat pad as, being old, he is quite thin and I worry about him getting cold!
He also has an impacted anus (quite common in male, older guinea pigs), which means he needs to be manually evacuated at least twice a day (not the nicest of tasks, but very necessary!). Although I do this for him, I was concerned that I would not find a boarders where this could be done, but Karen looked after him perfectly, sent me reassuring updates so I knew he was fine and didn’t worry.

I am going on holiday in September – and guess where Ishy’s going?! Yes, back to Karen for the week!”

“Merry and Pippin have boarded with Home Squeak Home twice now, both for a week. Merry and Pippin are indoor rabbits so I was hesitant having them sleep in a shed. Karen completely eased my mind by providing lots of straw, hay and heat pads at night. I got to see the shed they were staying in beforehand too which made me feel so much better.

Karen is a Veterinary nurse, so I knew my bunnies were in safe hands, they have has multiple health issues in the past, so I’m so happy to know somebody was there to notice and understand something if anything recurred.

I got updates every other day with pictures, which was lovely! Karen only put them in the run if she was supervising them and made sure the weather was perfect beforehand.

During the first stay, Karen clipped their nails free of charge (something I hate doing myself!) which was a lovely surprise. I already know I am going to book with Home Squeak Home many more times in the future! Merry and Pippin had more fun here than they do at home! xx.”

“Cleo boarded with Home Squeak Home for the weekend as a trial run to see how she’d get on. She’s had a few health issues in the past so I’ve always been worried about giving her to people whenever I’m away. Karen was absolutely brilliant, and as she’s trained veterinary nurse I felt that Cleo would be in safe hands.

What I liked most about Home Squeak Home is how much Karen loves all of the animals that board with her and looks after them as if they’re her own. She’s passionate about animals and introduced us to her own resident pets as well as fellow boarders! Karen really put us at ease, and Cleo thoroughly enjoyed her stay.

She had a big run to play in during the day and was then kept in a large cage in a secured shed at night to make sure she was kept safe. I’ll definitely board with Home Squeak Home again (I don’t think Cleo wanted to come home from her mini bunny holiday!) Xx”

“From the first conversation with Karen I felt at ease. Upon meeting her in her home where our mini lop rabbit would be staying, me and my daughters felt comfortable and happy in the environment Blossom would be in. The set up for the rabbits is great and plenty of room for grazing.

This was the first time we had left out rabbit and we missed her a lot. Karen sent pictures and updated us every couple of days which was a lovely personal touch. Our rabbit was very happy here and would highly recommend Karen with her lovely warm and professional service that was provided. Just to add my rabbit had wouldn’t eat the dry food we left and Karen kindly tried some other food for her which was a success and we are thankful as now she is eating better than before!

“Both Twiglet and Marmite came home looking happy, healthy and chilled out. Twiglet has always liked being fussed but Marmite, despite getting lots of love and affection, rarely allowed me to stroke her. But since she came back from Home Squeak Home she is a changed bunny and loves being stroked for as long as my arm allows! Some days (like Twiglet) she even wants to be stroked before she tucks into her food. The last couple of days she has been running around and binkying in her run on the grass! Thank you Karen.”

“I can’t recommend Karen and Home Squeak Home enough. First off, the fact that Karen is a qualified veterinary nurse is comforting enough, but the care our rabbits receive when they stay is second to none! Karen is so warm and friendly and immediately puts you at ease when dropping off your pets for the very first time.

Crystal and Rosie, our two bunnies, have stayed a few times now and I wouldn’t use anyone else. They always come home so well cared for and happy.

The little touches Karen adds during their stay like the updates on Facebook and Whatsapp, so you know what they’ve been up to, to clipping their claws (which I hate!) is so lovely. Karen responds so quickly to messages too.

“This was the first time in 4 years I was putting my dwarf lop Smudge into boarding and I was quite nervous initially. However I had no need to worry. I honestly could not have asked for her to be in better care.

Home Squeak Home was absolutely fantastic. Karen kindly allowed me to view where Smudge would be sleeping and talked me through her plan for her care throughout her stay. Even though I was the one on holiday I think my rabbit enjoyed a holiday having love and attention at HSH and lots of playtime. Karen even groomed Smudge and trimmed her nails beautifully.

“I was very concerned about the fur on my cat’s back. It had become very sticky and clumpy and I was unable to comb it out without causing him great discomfort .

I felt a home visit would be far less stressful for my cat, as well as for me. Karen listened to my concerns, answered my questions and advised me what she could do. She had a lovely calm, friendly, and caring manner. In the end she clipped the clumps of fur off. She was very gentle and patient with him.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better place for Danny the Rabbit to stay for 10 days in December. As soon as we met Karen we knew that Danny would be looked after and spoiled as if he were at home. “Finding Home Squeak Home at the last minute before going away was a prayer answered. I couldn’t have found a more perfect ‘holiday’ for Winter our hamster. Karen was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. It is always a worry when leaving our pets but not with Karen; the little extras like photo updates while we were away gave added reassurance that Winter was having a great time and being spoiled rotten. In fact, I’m surprised she wanted to come home!

“We were quite apprehensive about leaving our pet rats with someone we had not met before when we went on holiday for a a week over Christmas. However, we had nothing to worry about. We also received a text informing us that our pets had settled in nicely.

On collection, the rats were in good condition and the cage was clean and tidy. Karen had even, very kindly, washed all their bedding.

I felt so much better after talking to Karen on the phone and even better when I dropped them off and I knew they were going to be with lovely people and still get their hugs. Knowing that Karen is a Vet Nurse really put my mind at ease. Louis had been a little bit ill a week or so before I went away. I was lucky I had someone knowledgeable and caring looking after him and weighted him daily to monitor his progress. I loved the message updates to tell me how they were getting on. It was also lovely to see pictures of them every so often on Facebook having fun in the runs. They even got a groom and nail trim before they came home! They’ll be back for Christmas!”

HSH was offering just what we were looking for. Karen popped in to clean their cage and was also able to take them to her garden where they could get some fresh air and exercise in the run.
